Knitting

Knitted Kimono (cardigan) with rhombus: for this you should try

Even in the hottest summer evenings, the weather can be quite cool. A light cotton cardigan is perfect for this occasion. Such a thing will be indispensable in the wardrobe: it goes well with both dresses and jeans.

The work is time consuming, but such a stylish and with it a universal thing will serve more than one season.

The inspiration for this cardigan was the traditional Japanese kimono. The main principle - as little as possible connecting joints between the parts and a fairly simple pattern, built on the basis of rectangles.

The main pattern is classic rhombuses. Knitting is quite simple and consists of double crochets and air loops. The presence of the latter and makes the cardigan openwork. And yet, swinging at the bulk thing, a small sample will be useful. This will help determine the density of knitting and make adjustments if necessary. The report of the pattern is simple, which allows you to quickly go to knitting “according to the pattern” without tedious calculations.

Thanks to the proposed scheme, it is not necessary to sew kimono parts. This allows you to do without docking the picture and greatly simplifies the assembly, but requires special attention at the initial stage.

The scheme of knitting and assembly:

For work you will need:

  • 700 g of twisted cotton yarn;
  • hook 4.5 mm;
  • marker for counting loops;
  • scissors;
  • gypsy needle.

If desired, you can take a thin thread, but then the work will be much more. Diamonds will decrease, the number of loops will increase, but the cardigan will be more delicate.

Important points:

  • Work begins with knitting the right shelf.
  • The specified number of loops in the rows remains unchanged. In fact, the cardigan is connected on the basis of the fillet net, but with a small number of gaps. Each pass formed by knitting the air loop of the current row is the basis for the double crochet of the next row. Accordingly, under each air loop (with the exception of lifting) a double crochet remains free. Due to this, an openwork pattern is formed.
  • For convenience, a detailed description is given in the 1st row of the knitting pattern of the main web and sleeves.
  • ** - repeating fragment.
  • The side seams go into the seams of the sleeves.
  • All calculations are for a medium size model. To increase the length of the product, you need to add the number of loops, a multiple of 14 + 1. To increase the width of the original pattern, increase by the number of rows a multiple of 2, so as not to disturb the direction of knitting. At increase in the size due to expansion of the middle of a back it is reasonable to add the whole rhombus. If the side parts are chosen for this, then rows will have to be added symmetrically.

Main canvas

In fact, the cardigan consists of 2 canvases that combine part of the back and front shelves, and the back part, which is necessary to set the desired width of the back.

Zero row: on a chain of 197 air loops all the loops are tied with a crochet.

Row 1: 2 air loops (lifting), 6 double crochets, * 1 air loop above the double crochet of the previous row, 11 double crochets into the next 11 double crochets of the previous row * - repeat 13 times; 1 air loop above the double crochet of the previous row, 1 double crochet of the previous row, 1 air loop above the double crochet of the previous row, 6 double crochet of the next 6 crochet of the previous row.

Rows 41-50: repeat rows 1 through 10.

Rows 51-60: repeat rows 1 through 10.

Row 61 is special. In fact, in this place the main fabric folds in half (front shelves to the back) and is sewn on the sides. 71 loops for each arm remain on each side. It is possible to join the canvas with chaffing seam or ordinary columns, capturing at the same time the hinges of the backrest and the shelves. Knitting is transverse. It begins from the bottom to the sleeve. 63 hinges on each side. The remaining loops will be the basis for the sleeves.

Please note that the sleeves do not knit round. At the end of knitting, each of the sleeves will need to be sewn in the same way as the side seams of the main web.

Hinges for the sleeves are not separately typed knitting begins transversely relative to the main fabric on the remaining unstitched loops. The fabric of each sleeve consists of 71 loops.

Right sleeve

Row 1: create a loop in the first unclosed transverse loop of the main web. From it we knit 2 lifting loops. 1 double crochet. * 1 air loop above the free loop of the side web, 9 double crochets of 9 main loops, 1 air loop above the free main web loop, 3 double crochets of 3 main web loops * - 4 times. 1 air loop above the free loop of the main web, 9 double crochets of 9 main loops of the main web, 1 air loop above the free main web loop, 2 double crochets of the main web 2 loops.

Row 2: 2 lifting loops, 3 double crochets. * 1 air loop, 7 double crochets, 1 air loop, 5 double crochets * 4 times. 1 air loop, 7 double crochets, 1 air loop, 3 double crochets.

Row 3: 2 lifting loops, 4 double crochets. * 1 air loop, 5 double crochets, 1 air loop, 7 double crochets * 4 times. 1 air loop, 5 double crochets, 1 air loop, 4 double crochets.

Row 4: 2 lifting loops, 5 double crochets. * 1 air loop, 3 double crochets, 1 air loop, 9 double crochets * 4 times. 1 air loop, 3 double crochets, 1 air loop, 5 double crochets.

Row 5: 2 lifting loops, 6 double crochets. * 1 air loop, 1 double crochet, 1 air loop, 11 double crochet * * 4 times. 1 air loop, 1 double crochet, 1 air loop, 6 double crochet.

Row 6: 2 lifting loops, 5 double crochets. * 1 air loop, 3 double crochets, 1 air loop, 9 double crochets * 4 times. 1 air loop, 3 double crochets, 1 air loop, 5 double crochets.

Row 7: 2 lifting loops, 4 double crochets. * 1 air loop, 5 double crochets, 1 air loop, 7 double crochets * 4 times. 1 air loop, 5 double crochets, 1 air loop, 4 double crochets.

Row 8: 2 lifting loops, 3 double crochets. * 1 air loop, 7 double crochets, 1 air loop, 5 double crochets * 4 times. 1 air loop, 7 double crochets, 1 air loop, 3 double crochets.

Row 9: 2 lifting loops, 2 double crochets. * 1 air loop, 9 double crochets, 1 air loop, 3 double crochets * 4 times. 1 air loop, 9 double crochet, 1 air loop, 2 double crochet.

Row 10: 2 lifting loops, 1 double crochet. * 1 air loop, 11 double crochets, 1 air loop, 1 double crochet * * 5 times.

Row 11: 2 lifting loops, 2 double crochets. * 1 air loop, 9 double crochets, 1 air loop, 3 double crochets * 4 times. 1 air loop, 9 double crochet, 1 air loop, 2 double crochet.

The thread, after the 12th row is tied, we do not tear it off. The length should be enough for the connecting seam. It is done from the direction from the bottom of the sleeves to the armpit.

Left sleeve

Row 1-11: correspond to rows 2-12 of the right sleeve.

Offset by 1 row is necessary for full alignment of the pattern in the binding of the sleeves to the main canvas.

Row 12: 2 lifting loops, 4 double crochets. * 1 air loop, 5 double crochets, 1 air loop, 7 double crochets * 4 times. 1 air loop, 5 double crochets, 1 air loop, 4 double crochets.

Connect the seam left long thread, as on the right sleeve.

Finish

Cuffs, bottom and side trim knit with a false rubber band from semi-columns with nakida, and then priklevyvayutsya. The effect of the gum is achieved due to the fact that when knitting semi-columns the hook is inserted not into the entire loop of the previous row, but captures only the back wall. The number of loops in the rows remains unchanged during the entire knitting.

The cuffs and the lower elastic band consist of 6 loops in width, and the front plate consists of 8 loops in width (instead of the first half-column, always fasten 2 lifting loops).

Approximate number of rows (will largely depend on the density of knitting):

for cuffs -44;

for the lower gum - 145;

for the front bar, passing into the gate - 178.

If desired, the trim strips can be connected in another way. For this fit any imitation gum. Not excluded and binding on the needles.
